Dr. John Sharp
Foot & Ankle Surgeon
Dr. John Sharp is a highly-experienced surgeon who specializes in lower extremity or foot and ankle surgery. The bulk of his usual procedures include trauma care such as Achilles tendon rupture repairs, ankle fracture reduction, metatarsal bone fracture repair as well as a wide range of sports medicine procedures, ankle joint ligament and tendon repairs, and bunion surgery. He is certified in the advanced Lapiplasty technique for bunion correction. Additionally, he regularly performs surgery for neuromas, plantar fasciitis and arthritis including fusion and joint replacement.
Dr. Sharp finished his foot and ankle surgical residency training in 1996 and originally worked for a large group before moving to Denver in 2004. At Sky Ridge Hospital he started his solo practice and in 2018 he joined Peak Orthopedics.
His team emphasizes the patient experience, especially trying to understand the entire person including issues outside of physical health. The ultimate goal is to tailor the best treatment for each individual and enable quick return to an active lifestyle with the least amount of downtime. Many times, this includes non-surgical conservative treatment.
Outside of the office, he enjoys road and mountain bike riding, hiking, golfing, pickle ball and more recently yoga and stretching. In the past, he was a CAT 3 competitive cyclist in addition to 10th mountain division huts. More currently he enjoys recreational biking and backcountry skiing.
